Divorce

Chris understands that divorce can be a traumatic process. Not only can the parties' emotional and financial status be damaged, but children can also be devastated. As an advocate for children in the family court system, Chris always tries to emphasize the needs of the children and ensure that they are safe. In many cases, this means that a divorce case should be settled quickly. Settlement usually results in lower attorney's fees and less conflict between the parties. Children often benefit from this approach.

As a mediator, Chris is experienced in discovering creative ways with which to settle cases that allow everyone to feel as if they are obtaining the best result possible. Alternatively, some cases are not appropriate for settlement. In those situations, Chris is able to call upon his long history of litigation experience to fight for his client's rights. Chris has been handling divorce cases since his entry to the bar in 1993.

While employed at the Legal Aid Society of Louisville, Chris exclusively handled cases involving survivors of domestic violence. He understands the dynamics of domestic violence and the behaviors associated with it. Chris knows that clients in cases involving domestic violence need a forceful advocate willing to fight for the necessary results.
